As more and more people choose to bring pets into their homes, the demand for pet-friendly housing is increasing around the world. In Mangalore, this trend is no different. According to recent surveys, an increasing number of people in Mangalore are looking for pet-friendly rental properties.

Pets are an integral part of our lives, and many people consider them as members of their families. Pet-owners face difficulties in finding rental apartments as most of the landlords are not comfortable with pets. However, thanks to the growing demand for pet-friendly housing, some apartment owners have started to cater to the needs of these pet owners.

The concept of pet-friendly housing is still new to Mangalore, but gradually it is gaining popularity. Renters with pets now have more options than ever before. Earlier, pet-owners had to look for independent homes or villas where pets were allowed. But now, many real estate agents have started offering pet-friendly options to their clients.

Durga Prasad, a real estate agent in Mangalore, says, “The demand for pet-friendly housing has gone up in the past few years. We receive a lot of inquiries from pet-owners who are looking for rental properties that are compatible with their pets. Our team has begun listing homes that allow pets to cater to this increasing demand.”

He adds, “Most of the pet-friendly Apartments or flats have basic amenities such as flooring that is easy to clean, provisions for pets to move around and use the toilet, and balconies with grills to ensure their safety. The owners may also ask for a poop deposit or an extra fee for the pets.”

While the shift towards pet-friendly housing is primarily driven by tenants, landlords, too, have started to see the benefits of being open to pets. Pet-friendly housing can attract a different segment of renters that may be willing to pay more rent and stay longer. Also, property owners can benefit from the rise in demand and can charge a premium for pet-friendly rentals. As long as the owners take necessary precautions, renting to pet owners is a win-win situation for both the parties involved.

However, it is important to remember that pet ownership comes with responsibility. The pets must be well-behaved and trained so that they don’t disturb other tenants. Pet-owners must ensure that their pet does not create any nuisance in the society. Also, while renting a pet-friendly apartment, it is the responsibility of the pet-owner to maintain hygiene and cleanliness.

In conclusion, as the number of pet-owners in Mangalore grows, so does the demand for pet-friendly housing. The trend towards pet-friendly housing is a welcome change for pet-owners who were earlier limited in their rental options. However, it is crucial that both pet-owners and landlords work together to ensure that these rentals meet the needs of all tenants and maintain cleanliness and hygiene. With this co-operation, pet-friendly housing can be a success in Mangalore.

With its rapidly growing economy and burgeoning urban population, cities like Mumbai, Delhi, and Bangalore have witnessed a surge in demand for residential and commercial properties. The sector has also seen significant innovation, with the introduction of technologies like virtual reality and augmented reality changing the way properties are marketed and showcased. Despite occasional challenges such as regulatory changes and market fluctuations, the Indian real estate market continues to be a promising arena for those looking to invest in property.
